We have seven Scout Groups operating in the Silchester Scout District. Combined, they provide adventurous activities and personal development opportunities for over 400 young people aged 6-14 in Baughurst, Bramley, Cheam School, Headley, Kingsclere, Pamber Heath and Tadley.

Scouting in Silchester has been growing hugely in recent years, and is limited only by the number of adults willing to become uniformed leaders !!

In addition, we also have a District Explorer Scout Unit that provides adventurous activities and personal development opportunities for 14–18 year-olds coming to it from across the Scout Group areas.

Personal development in Scouting means the promotion of physical, intellectual, social and spiritual well-being of the individual, and helping them achieve their full potential. In Scouting, we believe that young people develop most when they are 'learning by doing,' when they are given responsibility, work in teams, take acceptable risks and think for themselves.
